The JFK Islanders made a strong start out the gates by winning the 2019 Shieh Preseason Volleyball Tournament at the St. John’s gym Saturday afternoon. JFK defeated the GW Geckos in straight sets 25-22, 25-18 led by a senior crop of 12 players who are hungry for a strong post-season run.

The annual Dr. Shieh Girls Preseason Volleyball Tournament kicked off their Pool B Friday evening at the St. John’s gym with the ND Royals going a perfect 3-0 on the night. St. John’s went 2-0 in Pool A on Thursday and Pool C will begin Saturday morning the the playoffs following shortly after.

On Wednesday, August 13th, Aidan McDonald signed his official letter of intent to play Division 1 Volleyball for the Grand View University Vikings in Iowa. The signing was held at the FD Phoenix Center, where McDonald has played volleyball for the past four years as a Friar.
