The inaugural Grapplers Quest Guam commenced Saturday at the UOG Calvo Fieldhouse, marking a historic day for the grappling community on the island. Enthusiastic participants experienced a lively event featuring exciting matches, E-games championship rounds, kid-friendly jumper stations, and a delectable array of food from local food trucks and Ignite Juice Bar’s acai bowls.

The sprawling 5,824 sq. ft mat space and dedicated warm-up mats welcomed grappling enthusiasts of all ages. MMA superstar Brandon “the Truth” Vera added to the excitement, engaging in 12 exhibition matches with kids who showcased their skills in solo brackets.

Day 1 showcased the talent in various divisions, covering kids and teens in both Gi and No-Gi categories, along with women’s Gi & No-Gi, and men’s Gi. Grapplers Quest stands out as the first grappling event on Guam that is entirely free for all athletes.

Highlighting the event, Sunday’s Day 2 promises even more action, focusing on adults No-Gi. Doors open at 8 am, and the day will conclude with a seminar for all registered athletes by Vera, followed by an award ceremony.
