PRESS RELEASE – The Guam Masters Baseball League (GMBL) held a double header Monday night at the Paseo Stadium.
The Maimai Marlins led by brothers Peter and Vince Aguon defeated the Asan Rai 14-5. Peter Agoun was 2-for-3, with a double, an RBI, and a run scored. Vince Aguon was 1-for-2, a double, two RBIs, and a run scored. For Asan, Albert Padua was 3-for-3, a double, with an RBI, and a run scored. J.R. Gumataotao was 1-for-1, a triple, and a run scored.
In the night cap, the Triple J Blue Jays jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the bottom of the first and never looked back shutting out the Pohnpei Masters 10-0 in five innings. Triple J starter Russell Maratita pitched the maximum 4.0 innings giving up just three hits. For Triple J, Paul Untalan went 3-for-3, four RBIs, and two runs scored. Harold Mantanona went 2-for-3, a double, four RBIs, and a run scored.
