PRESS RELEASE – The 2013 Guam Seniors Spring Baseball League regular season has concluded. A double header on Mondaynight, August 5, 2013 at Paseo Stadium. In the first game, the Palau Masters defeated the Air Force Reserve, 15-5 in seven innings. Palau’s Edwin Secharmedal was 2-for-4, two RBI, and a run. For the Air Force Reserve, Vince Delgado was 2-for-4, a triple, an RBI, and a run. With the win, the Palau Masters finish the season at 6 – 6 1/2 and take the sixth place slot for the playoffs.
In the nightcap, Guahan beat the Padres, 14-4, in five innings taking the 10-Run rule win. Guahan’s Charlie Cabarles hit two 3R home runs over the wall in left; one in the bottom of the first, and one in the bottom of the third. He finished the night going 2-for-2, two home runs, six RBI, and two runs scored. With the victory, Guahan finishes the season at 13-0 and draws the bye in the Double Elimination format playoffs which begin on Thursday, August 8, 2013.
The Padres finish the season at 11-2 in 3rd place, and will face the 5th place Tatuha Twins (7-6) on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. The 4th place Payless Typhoons (9-4) will meet up with the Palau Masters (6-61/2) at 8:45 p.m., both games at Paseo Stadium.
