ANGELS GRAB FIRST BFL WIN

In the Angels’ first game of the season, the black and blue grabbed their first win 14-0 over the Steelers in the Budweiser Football League Sunday.
“We’ll take the win. We have a lot of work to do, it’s still the first game for us. A lot of improvement if we want to take the championship this year, so we’re gonna come to practice this week and work to get better,” said head coach of the Angels Mike Willess.
Moving the offense down the field, Stephen “SP” Phillips ran the ball in on a quarterback keeper for a 2-yard touchdown. Mike Pangelinan followed with the 2-point conversion to make the score 8-0.
A few minutes later, Angels’ Ryan Bigler grabbed an interception and returned it for 45-yards to give the offense another shot at a touchdown. Not wanting to waste the opportunity, Storm Rosario ran wide for a 3-yard rushing touchdown to put the Angels up 14-0.
The Eagles were unable to score; however Steelers Darry Guzman and Tom Medler kept the Angels defense on their toes.
“All phases of the games: offense, defense, special teams; it wasn’t a perfect. There were a lot of mental mistakes. We need to eliminate those. We just need to play a little bit smarter and just work on our game a little bit more,” said Willess of his team’s needed improvements.
The Angels are now 1-0 while the Steelers drop to 0-2.
Saturday: Eagles vs. Angels
Sunday: Raiders vs. Islanders
