Almost 200 cyclists from Guam and around the Pacific Rim and Asia took part in the Tour of Guam 2022 cycling event Sunday morning.
Guam’s Blayde Blas
20-year-old Blayde Blas just missed the podium, coming in fourth place of the Elite riders in a time of three hours, four minutes, 59 seconds. It was good enough to earn him the Guam National champion.
Yoon Heon from South Korea took the overall spot in 2:56:17 in the 102k event that started and ended at Skinner’s Plaza and took the riders south through Yona and looped around Inalahan, Merizo, Umatac and Agat before heading back into Hagatna.

Women’s
At 44-year-old, Meiko Carey was the top Guam Elite rider in 3:40:03. Joyce Calma won the women’s Guam National title in a time of 3:53:07.
