Big MMA news for Guam. Trevin ‘5 Star’ Jones gets a huge opportunity when his name was called to take on former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt.
The fight is slated on the stacked UFC 285 card on March 4 in Las Vegas headlined by the heavyweight title bout between Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane.
Garbrandt, who’s lost five of his last six fights since beating Dominick Cruz for the UFC belt in 2016, was to face Julio Arce. Jones is an injury replacement.
5 Star Jones, GSPN’s 2021 Athlete of the Year, is also looking to break a three-fight losing streak in the UFC.
