In a clash between the Sharks and the Tiyan Titans at Okkodo Field Wednesday afternoon, the Sharks demonstrated early dominance to stay undefeated with a big 17-2 win.
In the 1st inning, Jasmine Salinas showcased skill with a walk and two stolen bases, while Phaedra Taijeron’s performance earned 2 RBIs, setting the score at 3-0. Despite Shanese Aldan’s (Titans pitcher) recovery efforts, the Sharks maintained their lead with a triple play by Tiyan, concluding the inning with a 3-0 score.
The Sharks continued their momentum in the 2nd inning, widening the gap to 11-0. Despite Aldan finding her rhythm, errors and strategic plays by the Sharks pushed the lead further. The bottom of the 2nd saw the Titans struggling against the Sharks’ relentless momentum, maintaining a 12-0 lead.
The 3rd inning brought more Sharks dominance, reaching a score of 17-2. Titans showed resilience with Agualo’s steal and an RBI, gaining their first point at 17-1. However, the Sharks’ defensive stronghold, led by pitcher Gabby Lujan, secured a 17-2 score by the end of the inning.
In the 4th inning, the Titans maintained a solid defense, but an error pitch increased the Sharks’ advantage. The game concluded with the Sharks sealing victory through a mercy rule by 17-2 and a field incident, maintaining their undefeated status at 4-0, while the Titans stand at 1-2.
