Eight teams are gearing to kick off the 2025 Triple J GNYFF Football League the weekend of June 7-8.
All eight teams return from last season, for the exception of the Broncos. That means all teams will be playing each weekend with no byes.
The Faha Outlaws won two of the three divisions, making them the prime target coming into this season. The Outlaws rolled to a perfect season and their first ever GNYFF championship in the Metgot Division behind running sensation Nekhi Freeman, who won’t be back this season.
The Outlaws then came in and captured the Matua Division title against the Hal’s Angels in one of the more exciting title games in recent memory.
According to Outlaws overall head coach Justin Cruz, both defending championship squads are considered to be rebuilding, but will be contenders. Watch out for QB Ghesan Gaje on the Matua team.
The Hal’s Angels will look to repeat in the Manha Division after completing a perfect season in 2024.
FIELD LOCATIONS
The league has identified the following fields:
Saturday games at Tiyan and Hal’s Angels fields
Sunday games at Tiyan and Talofofo fields
With the luck of the draw, Week 1 will pit the Angels and Outlaws to kick things off this summer.
