COACH LORING CRUZ PASSES AWAY
Player, Coach since the 1970’s
Long-time football coach Loring Cruz has sadly passed away Monday evening.
Cruz guided the GW Geckos to multiple IFL championships in the 1980’s and later led the Pepsi Giants/Warriors to MFL titles in the 2010’s.
Prior to that, he was an All-Star cornerback for the historic UOG Tritons teams of the 1970s/80s and played for the GW Warriors in the early 1970’s.
He graduated from GW in 1973 and would spend over 30 years as a PE teacher at the school.
RIP Coach Cruz.
