Rough Start The Packers were able to secure their first touchdown after the Steelers ended their first drive in a punt. Unchangco hit paydirt from 30 yards out; the extra point was good to put them up 7-0. However, Patience Ezra returned the ball 63 yards on the very next kick off to the house. The Steelers were unable to convert to PAT leaving the score 7-6.
Smooth Sailing After giving up a kickoff return, the Packers made the necessary adjustments, and it was smooth sailing from there. Everything was looking good for the Packers as they went into halftime up 20-6.
Defense Wins Championships Both the season and this game can’t go without acknowledging the Packers defense. Savier Cruz had 2 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 forced fumble, and 2 sacks. His defensive pressure helped his team get multiple stops to hold the Steelers offense to only 6 points.
“We worked hard in practice. We worked hard for this game. All season our coaches prepared us for this game,” said Cruz.
Steelers Struggle Despite a kickoff return touchdown in the first quarter, the Steelers couldn’t get anything going for the rest of the game. Ezra had his team’s lone touchdown along with 70 all-purpose yards. It was a struggle for the rest of the Steelers offense as they couldn’t find the end zone.
