The FD Friars domination continued in Week 3 of the ISA Football League, winning their 84th straight.
After giving up 16 first-half points to the Guam High Panthers, head coach Bruce Meno and the Friars refused to let go of the gas the rest of the way to make a statement behind star running backs Javin Meno and Brock Aguon, who both went over 100 yards and found the end zone. Halfway through a short season, Meno is making his case for Offensive MVP as he leads the league in rushing and scoring.
The Southern Dolphins did just enough to take care of the JFK Islanders to move to 3-0. 13-year-old freshman QB Ghesan (pronounced Jason) Gaje accounted for all three TDs for the Dolphins and is the top-ranked passer in the league so far. (btw, Ghesan is a student at Notre Dame)
The Sanchez Sharks finally got to taste a Dub, and they did it having fun. With a nine-man coaching staff and a talented core, the Sharks finally felt the thrill of victory led by senior leader Allen Toves.
Coming up this weekend, all three games will be played on Saturday. The GW Geckos get to play only their second game of the season, while the 9-time champion Friars get a midseason bye.
Here are the stats after Week 3.
