The undefeated Hal’s Angels (5-0) squared off against the equally unbeaten Guam Packers (4-0) in a highly anticipated Metgot Division showdown Sunday afternoon in the 2026 Triple J GNYFF Youth Football League.

It turned out to be a dominating performance by the Packers in a 34-0 shutout as bothers Connor and Jayce Hattori both running for over 100 yards and Julian Lane added two short TDs.

With first place and the inside track to the No. 1 playoff seed on the line, the atmosphere was electric long before kickoff.

The Packers wasted little time seizing control of the game.

Opening with a perfectly executed onside kick, the Packers stole the game’s first possession after electing to defer to the second half. The momentum immediately swung in their favor as quarterback Jayce Hattori calmly led the offense onto the field.

Displaying poise well beyond his years, Hattori orchestrated an efficient opening drive, distributing the ball to an arsenal of talented playmakers. Behind a dominant offensive line, bruising running back Julian Lane consistently picked up tough yards while the explosive Connor Hattori showcased the speed and vision that have made him one of the league’s most dangerous backs.

The Packers quickly found the end zone and never looked back.

Equally impressive was the Packers’ defense.

Every time the Angels appeared ready to build momentum, the Packers answered with another defensive stop.While the game featured hard hits and fierce competition, it ended the way youth football should with respect. Players from both teams met at midfield to exchange handshakes, hugs, and words of encouragement, demonstrating that sportsmanship remains the foundation of the game.

Jayce Hattori was the steady hand behind the Packers’ explosive offense. His composure, decision-making, and leadership allowed the offense to move efficiently all afternoon. Whether handing the ball off at the right moment or keeping the defense honest with his own scoring run, Hattori controlled the pace of the game from the opening drive to the final whistle.

Connor Hattori – Packers Running Back

Connor Hattori delivered one of the most explosive performances of the season, breaking away for spectacular 60-yard and 70-yard touchdown runs that energized the Packers’ sideline and put the game out of reach. His combination of speed, vision, and playmaking ability earned him co-Player of the Game honors.

With the victory, the Guam Packers remain undefeated and have firmly established themselves as the team to beat in the Metgot Division. As the postseason draws near, the Packers continue to demonstrate why championship expectations surround this talented group. If Saturday’s performance was any indication, the road to the Metgot title will have to go through Green and Gold.
