This season’s second race went down Saturday morning at Matapang. After a few delays from Typhoon Sinlaku, the conditions were set for paddlers to hit the course.
Races this week featured both 2-mile and 1-mile distances, with teams pushing off together in staggered starts. Sotteru and Sottera took on the full 2 miles, while Sottero Dinana (varsity mixed), Manhoben Lalahi, Manhoben Famalao’an, and Manhoben Dinana (junior varsity mixed) raced the 1-mile course.

The day ended with a special 1-mile race, giving paddlers who didn’t get a chance earlier, along with those who wanted to hop in with their coaches, an opportunity to get out on the water and join in.
With a short season this year, everything comes down to the final race on Saturday, May 9, at Matapang.
