Poppe’s time of 56.44 seconds was just shy of the silver time of 56.22 by a swimmer from New Caledonia.

Aleksenko blew away the competition with an outstanding time of 53.89.

In addition to Poppe’s medal swim, Amaya Bollinger finished 11th overall in the 100 fly in 1:07.53, dropping almost a full second from her previous best.
