SINLAKU PUTS GUAM SPORTS ON HOLD
Damage assessment underway
After a week-long postponement of local sports, there is still no clarity on when action will resume after a grueling time dealing with Super Typhoon Sinlaku.
Sports events, particularly high school and middle school, started calling off games last Friday with the exception of the Ko’ko’ Road Races over the weekend.
The island endured typhoon level winds and some rain over the span of three days with the coastal areas receiving the most damage.
As for facilities damage, Guerrero Field at Paseo suffered a fairly large amount with the ocean’s current flowing all the way in toward the field.
The Agana Heights Field’s net in the outfield tore in half.
One of the bleachers at the Tiyan Softball Fields flipped over.
The Tamuning Gym’s shutters had damage in more the half of their windows.
START UP DATES
As for starting back up and the changes of schedule, the respective leagues have yet to make those determinations, but GSPN will be on top of the changes and share them.
Intel floating has the ISA and IIAAG leagues getting back into action next week.
