After back-and-forth action, the Inarajan Warriors took a close win over the Untalan Wildcats in three sets, 25-17, 18-25,  16-14,  in the GovGuam Coed Volleyball League at the DPR Sports Complex in Harmon Wednesday night

The Wildcats managed to grab a small lead to begin the game following a lob into open court by Wencel Escobar – that would be the only offensive attack of the set that the Wildcats would conjure up. To the Wildcats’ relief, the Warriors were unable to capitalize on the offensive slump, allowing the Wildcats to stay in the game. It was the Warriors, however, that made the least mistakes leading to their first set win after Rett Farnum serving up an ace.

The second set saw the Wildcats fight back, going neck and neck against the Warriors. The Wildcats finally pulled away with the scoreboard reading 20-18. Stepping up to the service line, Wildcats’ Rodney Pama served up four aces and landed a kill to end the set.

The third set saw each team diving to save the ball with their efforts evident on the scoreboard, as they tied seven times during the third set. Errors plagued both teams as the pressure mounted getting closer to game-point. With the score at 14-all, Warriors’ Jordon Topasna served an ace and for the game-winning point, Topasna simply returned an overpass into the deep corner, just out of reach of the Wildcats defense.

The Warriors now improve to 3-3 while the Wildcats drop to 2-4.
