LIONS VICTORIOUS AGAIN

The St. Thomas Aquinas Lions picked up another win in High School Golf defeating the JFK Islanders Thursday afternoon at the Guam International Country Club in Dededo.  The boys’ squad won three matchups in the match play format with the fourth playing to a draw.  The lady Lions swept the Islanders winning all four match ups.

“We’ve got a good team,” admitted Lions coach Teddy Gogue.

In boy’s action, the Lions’ Spencer Steffy, Teddy Gogue II, Austin Tenorio won their respective matchups.  The Islanders’ Yohan Park was able to draw with St. Thomas’ Terrance Camacho.  Jana Otani, Rachel Petterson, Kella Hernandez, and Stacy Kim won all their matchups securing the win for the lady Lions.

St. John’s Knights vs. Okkodo Bulldogs

The St. John’s Knights defeated the Okkodo Bulldogs in both boys’ matchups.  The Knights’ Devin Hua defeated Okkodo’s Josh Bobadilla in four of the five holes played.  Bobadilla however won his lone hole with an impressive 45 foot birdie putt.  In the second matchup, St. John’s Kevin Oberiano swept beginner Ben Borja in all five hole.

Harvest Eagles vs. Guam High Panthers

The Eagles swept the Panthers in both the boys and girls. The Harvest boys winning their matches were Nalapon Vangjalorn, Sammy Sotelo, Jordan Santos and Masaki Kramer while Nalathai Vangjalorn was the sole girls winner for the Eagles.
