PRESS RELEASE – Preparations have been made to Paseo Stadium for the 2012 Asia Pacific Regional Little League Senior and Big League Division Tournament. The Senior League Baseball Division is for boys and girls 13-16 years old, while the Big League division is for boys and girls ages 15-18. Guam will have an All Star team competing with teams from China, the CNMI, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and New Zealand in the Senior Division, and a team competing in the Big League Division with teams from the CNMI and the Philippines.
The tournament takes place at Paseo Stadium starting on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 with an Opening Ceremony at 8 a.m. Games will be played from Wednesday, July 4, 2012 to Monday, July 9, 2012, with the Senior games being played at 9 a.m., 11:45 a.m., and 2:30 p.m. and the Big League games played at 5:15 p.m. On Monday, July 9, 2012, the Senior Division games will be played at 8 a.m., 10:45 p.m., and at 1:30 p.m. while the Big League Division game will be played at 4:15 p.m.
The Senior Division tournament winner will represent the Asia Pacific region in the Senior League Baseball World Series in Bangor, Maine later in August 2012. The Big League tournament winner will represent the region at the Big League Baseball World Series in Easley, South Carolina later this month. Everyone is encouraged to come out and support the games at the Paseo Stadium.
