SENIORS: BLUE JAYS JOLT JETS

The Triple J Blue Jays put on a clinic at bat to trump the Net Tours Jets 19-8 in Guam Masters Baseball action Monday night at the Paseo Stadium. The game ended after five complete innings due to the two-and-a-half hour time limit.
With the score 4-3 after three innings of play, a whopping eight runs in the top of the fourth allowed the Blue Jays to pull away and never look back.
Ken Ray Paulino got things started stroking a RBI single to center field that drove Zach Barcinas home. Paulino ran home a few batters later off a RBI single by Russel Maritita. Barcinas then touched home plate on the next play of a run-scoring single to right field by J.P. Aguon. With the bases loaded, Martita added a run on a walk.
To add to the spree, Harold Mantanona hit a RBI of his own sending Aguon home. To round out the inning, Emerald La Blanc finished with a RBI single that drove Mantanona home which gave the Blue Jays a commanding lead.

The Jets, however, fought hard to stay in the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. An overthrow to first base allowed Paul Santos to steal home to add a run. A few batter later with runners on second and third, John Leon Guerrero cranked the ball to left field that sent Paul Taisapic and Chang Lee home on a two-run single. Leon Guerrero would later reach home on a RBI by Pat Corpus over right field. Corpus would score the final run of the inning off a RBI single to left field by Will Nault which left the Jets only down by four.
To add insurance, Triple J answered in back in the top of the fifth adding seven more runs. Closing pitcher Pat Fejeran cranked a two RBI single to right field that drove Maritita and Aguon home. Teammate Ed Perez sent home Fejeran and Mantanona off a two run-scoring double.
In the win, the Blue Jays finished with a total of 17 hits at bat with 13 RBIs.
The nightcapper had the Giants take care of the MTM Falcons 20-4.
Action continues Thursday night with a doubleheader. At 6 p.m. it’s Guahan going up against CTD Adahi, then at 8:45 p.m., the OMG Masters taking on the Tamuning Twins.
