TWINS DOUBLE UP ON JETS

In senior baseball action, the Tamuning Twins went head-to-head with the Net Tour Jets Thursday night at Paseo Stadium. After a sluggish start the Twins found their stride and overwhelmed the Jets 14-7.

In the first couple of innings it looked like the Jets were about to pull away with the victory after two RBIs to left field from John Leon Guerrero and a couple of errors on the Twins defense made the score 4-0. However, thanks to sloppy defense by the Jets and a couple of errors, the Twins managed to get a base hit from Frank Mariano that put the Twins on the board, making the score at 4-2 at the bottom of the second.

Jason Aguon provided the Jets with a pair of RBIs into left field giving the Jets a comfortable lead 6-2 heading into the fourth inning.

The last couple of innings however were all about the Twins. Having scored on a walk early in the fifth, the Twins kept their momentum going thanks to Vince Bamba and Frank Mariano who tortured the Jets with their strong hitting and speed as both hit RBIs and were stealing bases as if their life depended on it. Paul Perez would bat out a nice popout to left field that would put the Twins ahead of the Jets 8-7 leading into the sixth inning. From then on out the Twins would add to the score, racking up six more insurance runs in the last two innings as they closed up shop on the Jets improving their record with six wins and two losses, while the Jets fall to 2-7.

In the nightcapper, the Agat Cardinals crushed the Agana Hts Cougars 20-3.
