After dropping the first set, Team Customs rallied to defeat Team Haya 17-25, 25-23, 17-15 during the GovGuam Coed Volleyball league on Wednesday night at the Dededo sports complex.
Both teams have to have three men and three women on the court at the same time for balance.
Team Customs got an early jump on Haya in the beginning of the second set, behind the serving prowess of Garret Certeza, to jump to an 18-16 lead. Team Haya kept it close with great serving by Tobat Quichocho, but made errors in the closing points to drop the set.
Haya rebounded in the third set with four straight serve-aces by Quichocho to jump to a quick 5-2 lead. The defense for Haya proved well while getting a 14-9 lead with just a single point to close the game.
Customs Natasha Taitague came up big for her team, knowing that a single mistake would give Haya the win. Unfortunately for Haya, Taitague did not make a mistake. Instead, she served five straight points to tie the game at 14.

Haya made some bumping errors that allowed Team Customs to surmount the comeback.
Casey Cruz stepped in to serve, proving to be all that Team Customs needed while serving their way to a 17-15 third set win after more bumping errors by Haya.
John Osborne was the driving force for Haya in the first set, but did not see any action in the third. Osborne served five points for Haya in both the second and third sets.
