PRESS RELEASE – The Asan Guns and Barrigada Crusaders faced off in Budweiser Fall Amateur Baseball League action Thursday night at Leo Palace Resort in a wild one that saw nine batters hit between the two teams. The Guns(2-3) would outslug the Crusaders and take a 15-7 win.
The Guns took a 7-1 lead in the third inning capped by a line shot by Henry Salas that cleared the wall in left field for a two run homerun. The Crusaders would cut the lead in to 7-4 in the 4th inning thanks to a long two run homerun by Eddie Garza. The Guns would put the game away with eight runs in the top of the 5th inning and would hold off the Crusaders in the bottom half of the inning for a 15-7 victory as time expired.
Malcolm Chaco went 4 for 4 with a double and 4RBI to share Strike Zone Player of the Game with Henry Salas who was 2 for 4 with a double, homerun and 4RBI. Hank Salas would go 2 2/3 innings in relief to collect the win as the Guns improve to 2-3.
Eddie Garza homered for the Crusaders and Howard Wolford was 2 for 3 in the loss. The Crusaders fall to 2-4 on the season.
