1988 Guam Olympian James Walker has run five Boston Marathons and had just run the 5K event the day before the explosion.

GSPN  has confirmed that Guam marathoners Wayne Blas, Lisa Blas, Vicki Daniel and Patrick Silverio are safe and sound after the devastating explosions at the Boston Marathon finish line Monday afternoon in New England (early Tuesday morning on Guam).

Former Guam resident and 1988 Olympian James Walker, who was tracking the pair of runners from his computer, just crossed that finish line 24 hours prior as part of the BAA 5K.

“I’m in shock.”

” I was home watching the race on my computer and following my friends,” Walker tells GSPN. “I’m trying to check on all of them. It’s a state holiday in Massachusetts.

“I crossed the same finish line (yesterday) and parked one block away on Newbury St.,” said the three-time Guam Running Club Runner of the Year.

As for tracking his friends, Walker feels that they are safe.

“I Suspect they were well away from the finish area approximately three blocks away. The family gathering area is closer to Arlington T-stop. The finish is by Copley T-stop,” Walker added.

Filipino triathlete Arland Macasieb, who just competed in the Guam XTERRA, wrote on his Facebook page,  “Craziness at the Boston Marathon finish line! I am safe and most of the Fil am Tri team are also safe and accounted for. Thank you everyone for your concern.”

Three people have been confirmed dead and as many as 140+ people are injured, according to the Boston Globe.
