Guam’s Matt Cruz took home the open division (140-185lb.) gold medal this weekend in the 2015 Arnold Sports Festivival – commonly known as the Arnold Classic – in Columbus, Ohio.
The blue belt competed against fellow blue as well as purple and brown belts and came out the victor.
“Guam nai,” explained Cruz on how he beat the higher leveled competitors.
Cruz also took the silver medal of the Army Grappling competition on Friday.
The four-day festival consists of different sporting events to compete in with over 18,000 spectators.
Cruz also got a chance to meet MMA fighters Dan Henderson, Chris Lytle and bodybuilder Karina Nascrimento.
