International Olympic Committee President Dr. Thomas Bach made his visit to Guam over the week, using his two-day stay on the island to see Guam’s training facilities and meet some of Guam’s athletes.
Bach stated in a press conference meeting Saturday afternoon at the GNOC headquarters that he was impressed at the community involvement in sporting events after visiting Guam Basketball’s National Training Center and the Matapang Beach during the IIAAG’s final day of races. He didn’t get the chance to visit all of Guam’s facilities, but was impressed with what he saw in the short period of time.
The GNOC also hosted a private dinner for Bach and the IOC delegation at the Dusit Thani Hotel ballroom on Friday.
Bach’s stay was brief, arriving to the island Friday evening via private jet and leaving before Saturday evening.
