The late season surge is proving to be more than just flash in the pan for the JFK Islanders after defeating the ND Royals 4-2 in the semifinals of the IIAAG Boys Baseball Playoffs Saturday afternoon. JFK’s win locks in their spot for the Championship Game while ND will have to face the GW Geckos, who defeated the Southern Dolphins 11-1 on Saturday as well.

GW will host the ND Royals Monday at 4 pm in with the winner moving on to face the JFK Islanders in the Championship game while the loser takes 3rd place. Since the format is double-elimination, JFK has gone unbeaten in the post season so far and will need to be beaten twice.

The Championship game is scheduled to start Wednesday and it may go down at Leo Palace.
