Published on

PRESS RELEASE – The Guam National Tennis Federation will be organizing a free ITF Play+Stay coaching course over four days on December 26-27, 2020, and January 2-3, 2021 from 8am-5pm at the Guam National Tennis Center in Harmon.

The coaching course is designed for those who are new to coaching or want to enhance their coaching careers. It is an excellent program for players 16 years and older, parents, and teachers who want to get knowledge for entry level coaching. This is especially beneficial for all high school tennis coaches as the season nears next month.

The coaching course runs a total of 35 hours with 32 hours face to face and three hours on a self paced online session. Completing the course is the first step towards obtaining the ITF Level 1 certification.

According to GNTF president Torgun Smith, “Coaching is a critical element of development, the more coaches we can get properly trained, the more players we can develop.”

“The GNTF Coaches Education Committee is excited to launch its first program and looks forward to more in the future. Quality coaching is critical to improving the quality of play.” Says Joe Cepeda, GNTF Coaches Education Chairperson.
