BEJERANA WINS ALLEGHENY CUP WITH RED STORMS
This past weekend, Gavin Bejerana and the University of Rio Grande Red Storm Rugby Team won the Allegheny Rugby Union Champions Cup, beating Franciscan University 34-24. The Red Storms Rugby Team are undefeated at 9 straight wins in their inaugural season, and are ranked #5 nationally in the National Collegiate Rugby Small Schools coaches poll.
On November 20, they will be playing in the National Collegiate Rugby Regional Playoffs in St. Louis, MO.
Gavin is a regular starter at the flanker position with the team. The team is composed of a majority of Freshmen and Sophomore players. Under the leadership of Head Coach Corey Momsen, a former US professional rugby player, the young team has shown to be getting better week after week.
