BULLDOGS WIN BIG IN TOURNEY DAY 4, FRIARS OUTLAST PANTHERS

Teams in Pool A took to the court Wednesday evening with the Okkodo Bulldogs getting a convincing win over the ND Royals while the FD Friars had grind out a close contest over the Guam High Panthers.

Okkodo 60, ND 34

A game-high 18 points from Michael Valera gave the Bulldogs a big boost as they pick up their second straight victory. The senior guard lit up the scoreboard in the second quarter, scoring 16 of his 18.

Eights points each by Monte Cabrera, Pizo Orichiro and Jose Suares paced Okkodo’s top scorers. ND’s Jayson Santos scored 12 points and Tyler Concepcion added 11.

FD 70, GH 63

The Friars used a 14-0 run right before the half to take a 41-33 lead after trailing by as many as five points. Friar forward Kaine Santos put in a team-high 19 points and guard Jaden Santos added 14. Panther Treydan Rosario put in a great effort scoring 28 points and kept Guam High close in the early goings.
