The 3rd Annual Guam Ninja Warrior Championship attracted over 30 competitors held at the course built by Guam’s Ninja Warrior veteran Deren Perez in Dededo Saturday afternoon.
What Perez envisioned a few years back has turned into a full-fledged reality with the legit competition with the winners qualifying to the world championships.
Perez, along with his father-in-law Juan Chaco and kids, hand-built the ninja warrior course over the past three years.
“The event was phenomenal, I’m very proud of all the competitors today,” Perez said. “We had a dozen of new faces came and showed up. Definitely, a lot of hidden talent here on Guam.
We had roughly the same amount of competitors from last year, but the vibe of the community has grown twice as big.
“Next big thing is the world championships. All those that qualified are planning to attend and we are hoping to have a huge showing at the world championships in Anaheim CA. late July.”
