PRESS RELEASE – The UOG Men’s Volleyball Team won their 2nd volleyball tournament of the fall season on Saturday night in the Guahan Juniors Volleyball Tournament at the Father Duenas Memorial School Phoenix Center.

The Tritons opened the day with their final pool play match against the Temo’s Boys and won 30-25 as UOG finished round robin play with a 4-0 record.

UOG then played Adahi in the semi-finals and won 25-24, 25-21 in a close match.

UOG then took on a very tough U-Fly team in the championship match (U-Fly had beaten the Guam National Team in the other semi-final match) and lost the first set 25-10 as U-Fly looked unstoppable with a hard hitting attack. But UOG gathered themselves for the 2nd set and U-Fly’s attacked slowed down and the Tritons won the 2nd set 25-20 and UOG went on to win the 3rd set, 15-10 and the championship.

The Tritons will return to the Triton Men’s Volleyball League in late January.

UOG finished 2nd in the fall Triton League and won two community tournaments for a great showing in their first semester of varsity men’s volleyball play.
