Father Duenas Friars sophomore Colin Baker went off for 61 points in the 6th Dreamers International Challenge hosted by the Pinoy Youth Dreamers club in Manila, Philippines on Thursday.
The Friars continue to roll in 2024, and Baker has been the best 6th man for FD. After coming back to win the Champion vs. Champion game against the GW Geckos on Sunday, the Friars’ first game was against fellow Guam team, the Sanchez Sharks.

Both teams came out swinging offensively, and the game eventually went into overtime with the Friars winning 127-123.
At the end of the game, Baker had 15 made 3-pointers and a career high 61 points.
“In the beginning of the game, I felt it even before the game started during warmups,” said Baker. “As a shooter, you just know it will happen by shooting. Once you make your first shot, it will keep coming. “
“What a game against Sanchez – both teams played well,” said FD coach Jimmy Yi. “Colin got hot in the first quarter. He made five 3-pointers. He continued to stay hot throughout the game.”
The Sharks as a team were also firing away from three-point land as the scores hit triple digits for both teams. “Sanchez was also hitting from beyond the arc. Both teams played really well (Thursday) night,” said Yi.
Even with Sanchez putting on a show to counter FD, the star of the game was Baker. Baker sank 15-of-22 three-point attempts and helped the Friars close out a tough Shark team.
“I did take the initiative to shoot more because I really felt it in this game. My teammates were encouraging me to keep shooting because they know I was feeling it.”

Action continues throughout the weekend in the Philippines, with several Guam teams capable of winning it all. The Guam teams are GW, Southern, Guam High, Sanchez, FD and Okkodo.
The Sharks bounced back after the tough loss against FD and defeated Global Youth Dreamers from Korea 100-71.
