The FD Friars were never really threated this season, capping off a perfect 2024 campaign to win the ISA Baseball League 11-0 over the Notre Dame Royals Saturday afternoon at the Okkodo Field.
Senior Ayden Aguon tossed a complete game two-hitter for the Friars and added two hits on offense to put the finishing touches on what was a ho-hum undefeated season for FD. The game ended after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

“ND got stronger over the course of the season,” Friars manager John Tuquero commented. “This particular game, we fired on all cylinders on both sides of the field. We didn’t give them a chance to ‘get in the game’.”
Aguon, who was named 1st Team All-Island as a catcher, had the confidence of the coaches to pitch the championship game instead. The senior struck out four and gave up only two harmless hits.
The offense, meanwhile, has shown great patience at the plate all season long and the title game was no different. The Friars scored at least two runs in each of the four innings they went to bat.
Senior leader Kaiden Weakley, who went 2-for-3, kicked things off in the opening inning with a two-run double and the Friars never looked back. Max Dirige and Daethan Alcantara also added RBI hits along the way for FD.
Note: The Friars trailed only once this year, and that was to the GW Geckos in the regular season when they trailed 4-1, eventually winning 11-5.
In the consolation game, the Tiyan Titans beat the GW Geckos 8-3 to take third place.
