Teams from Korea and Philippines take on Guam in 1st ever tournament

The aroma of Salonpas and Ben Gay filled the air as the inaugural Guam Asian Masters Friendship Basketball Tournament took place at the Guam Sports Complex Oct 10-13, 2024.

After three days full of action, the championship trophies were spread evenly as the Philippines took the 40s division, Guam was dominant in the 50s division and Korea captured both the 60s and 65s divisions.

Tito Rex’s Firewire defeats Guam 40s Team 1

Erwin Sta Maria (Firewire) – MVP

Firewire’s only loss in pool play was to Guam 40s Team 1 who went undefeated in pool play besting Firewire, Pilipino Masters 40s and Guam 40s Team 2.

Guam 50s Team 1 went undefeated the entire tournament defeating Guam 50s Team 2, Pilipino Masters 50s and Manila Masters 50s.

60s Division
Korea 60s defeats Manila Masters 60s

Korea 60s went undefeated the entire tournament defeating Manila Masters 60s, Guam 60s Team 1, and Guam 60s Team 2

65s Division
Korea 65s defeat Guam 65s Team 1

Korea 65s went undefeated the entire tournament defeating Guam 65s Team 1, Guam 65s Team 2 and Pilipino Masters 65s
