NO DOUBT: PETERS BEST IN BASKETBALL

St. John’s star is easy 2024 MVP

Published on

There was no doubt on who the best player was in the 2024 GBC Interscholastic Girls High School Basketball League.

St. John’s junior sensation Jia Peters was the easy choice for MVP, as voted by the league 8-2 by coaches Friday. She was also IIAAG MVP in 2023. In 2022 as a freshman, Peters finished runner-up in MVP votes and was a First Team selectee.

Peters was simply sensational in leading the Knights to their first ever girls high school basketball championship, losing only one game early in the season to the St. Paul Warriors.

The stats were jaw-dropping: 29 ppg, 9.7 rpg, 7.2 apg, 5.1 spg!

She had four triple doubles. Her highest scoring game was 42 points and her lowest scoring output was 19 points. In that game against Harvest, however, she had a quadruple double (19 pts, 13 reb, 10 asst, 16 stls).
