The Tiyan Titans girls out played the Okkodo Bulldogs 30-20 in Thursday afternoon’s ISA tennis matches hosted by the Guam National Tennis Center.
In the girls singles matches, Tiyan’s Natalie Motera and Eyana Duenas defeated their Bulldogs opponents. Mortera faced Donita Manaonul, ending the match 8-7 and Duenas battled Danah Bonto, winning 8-3.
The girl’s doubles matches broke even for both teams. Tiyan’s pair Emelia Salas and Jalene Masga beat Okkodo’s Shantell Cortez and Tricia Fedeluces 8-2. Tiyan’s pair Angel Armas and Cristel Dela Cruz handed Ariana Cruz and Selene Avellana a tough loss of 8-6.
The boys teams were unable to complete one of the doubles matches and will be continued over the weekend.
Okkodo’s Bryce Manalo is set to be the number one prospect for the ISA Boys Tennis League. Manalo cruised through his singles match defeating Mason Taitano 8-1. Kenshin Samortin of Okkodo also coasted through his single’s match overpowering Segundo Garrido 8-1.
Tiyan’s boys doubles team Dwayne Golle and Yi Chen Wei easily beat their opponents Austin Borja and Isaiah Carlos 8-0.
