SHIROMA WINS BACK-TO-BACK GOLF TITLES

Friars win 14th straight golf championship

PRESS RELEASE –  On Thursday under ideal golf conditions at the Country Club of the Pacific the IIAAG held its fourth & final round to determine the best in high school golf. The defending All-Island champion senior standout Stüssy Shiroma spearheaded  the victory for the Friars in the team competition while also clinching the individual title of All-Island Champion for the second consecutive season with a 12-stroke margin of victory over the nearest in the field. Shiroma’s three counting scores were 76, 77, 76. Ray Blas of FD, & Taiyo Tagame of St. John’s finished second and third respectively.

The Father Dueñas Friars cruised to an easy victory over the St. John’s Knights, Guam High Panthers, and the Guam Adventist Academy Angels in the team competition to secure their 10th straight team title. The 2024 female All-Island individual champion is sophomore Mina Manibusan. Manibusan is a former St. John’s Knight, who is currently home schooled. 

Shiroma, Blas, and Manibusan will all represent Guam this summer at The IMG Junior Worlds in San Diego, California and at The PGA National High School Championships in Frisco, Texas.
