Includes 36 all-girls teams

PRESS RELEASE – A total of 114 teams from four age divisions – including 36 all-girls teams – played opening day matches of the Triple J Auto Group Robbie Webber Youth League Fall Season Saturday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

“I had a lot of fun today,” said Maesyn Peightal of the Guam Shipyard Wolverines U8 Girls team. “I like that I get to kick the ball around and also I made a goal today.”

Peightal’s teammate, Charlotte Dobrowolski, also enjoyed opening day with her friends.

“I also had a lot of fun,” Dobrowolski said. “My favorite part was I got to try to play up, because I’m usually goalie, but (today) I got to play in the upper part.”

In addition to the 114 teams, eight teams from the U17 Boys Division played their Week 7 matches and eight teams from the U17 Girls Division played their Week 4 matches over the weekend. Two divisions – the U14 Haya and U14 Lagu divisions – will play their season openers in October.

In preparation for opening day, the GFA Football Events staff were on hand for weeks to devise the most efficient schedules and field layouts to make the Fall 2025 season enjoyable, reaping praise from parents and other supporters.

“I see that the fields have been separated differently from last time, and I like it – it’s nice to see more games going on at once, said Risha Cruz, who has four children playing in GFA’s leagues. “It’s exciting because we can watch multiple games and cheer for other teams as well. I really like how GFA has maximized field usage here on the Robbie Webber grass pitch. I’m just excited with the season starting again to see other parents and their kids – win or lose, we’re going to have fun this season and we all support each other.”

Cruz’s husband, John, a U14 Boys coach for the NAPA Rovers FC, has a few more weeks before his team takes the pitch, but was on hand to support other players and teams on opening day.

“For my U14 Boys team, we’re looking forward to the upcoming competition,” Cruz said. “We’re moving up to the competitive bracket this season and will be playing against teams with players in the upper ages of the division, so it’ll be good for us.”

Triple J Auto Group entered its 12th year of partnership with GFA in 2025, and featured on opening day with a display of the current models of its vehicle fleet at GFA. Several concessionaires also contributed to the opening day atmosphere including Fizz & Co, Korned, Maclitz, Coffee Truck, Snowy, and Dikiki Donuts. The Fall 2025 season continues through to Nov. 15, with the season-ending Jamboree set for Nov. 22.
