PRESS RELEASE – Twelve-year-old Messiah Elm was dominant on the bump, as the pitcher rang up 12 strikeouts in Legends’s 6-4 victory over Hurricanes on Sunday at Okkodo High School in the Pony League championship game. He allowed zero hits and two runs over five innings while walking five.

Elm started things off strong for Legends as two pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter. Legends’s pitchers struck out 14 on the way to victory.
In the bottom of the second, Legends broke up a 1-1 tie when ANDREW S grounded out, scoring one run. Then a single by Elm followed to extend the lead to 4-1.
XANDER W led things off on the mound for Hurricanes. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and four runs over three innings, striking out five and walking six. ELIAS E appeared in relief for Legends.
Elm led Legends with three hits in three at bats. ELIAS paced Legends with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. PAUL C, MESSIAH, ELIAS, and KANE M each stole multiple bases for Legends. Legends ran wild on the base paths, collecting 13 stolen bases for the game.
The Hurricanes had a strong eye at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Hurricanes stole seven bases in the game.
