Senior outside hitter Niesha Chen has had quite the year in volleyball, culminating as the 2025 ISA/IIAAG Girls Volleyball League Most Valuable Player.
Chen led the Harvest Eagles to their first championship in school history with a four-set win over the previously unbeaten GW Geckos in the title match. It was the first time in six years that the ISA and IIAAG leagues combined, making this season that much more challenging and intriguing.
The Eagles finished the season in 3rd place, losing to the Geckos and Academy Cougars. They redeemed both losses in the playoffs over a span of three nights. Three Eagles made the First Team: Chen, setter Manea Camacho and libero Erica Cassidy.
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME HIGHLIGHTS
Chen finished her high school career with 16 kills in the title game, most of them with arms in the air in great delight.
She was part of the golden duo – along with Academy’s Ally Leon Guerrero – that won the Oceania U18 Beach Volleyball Championship in April, beating Australia twice!
