Ivan Sablan continues to add to his list of achievements. Sablan, a senior attending Sonoma State University in Nothern California, made the All-CCAA (California Collegiate Athletic Association) team after a strong finish in their 2024-2025 golf season.
The Sonoma Seawolves got off to a rough start for their season but finished strong thanks to some heroics from Sablan. In the final round of the CCAA Championships in Santa Barbara, California, Sablan shot seven birdies for a score of 66 to move from 17th to 4th position.

Sablan’s final round helped the Seawolves finish third as a team in the tournament.
Sablan currently ranks 4th in the region and 63rd in the nation with four top 5 finishes during the season. He is a 2021 graduate from Father Duenas Memorial School and is a member of the Guam national men’s golf team and two-time defending Guam Amateur champion.
“So far, I’ve never seen my game as good as it’s been these past few months. I’ve been putting in a lot of hard work, and it’s nice to see it pay off,” said Sablan.
“It felt good when I made the all conference team. But I was a little more disappointed about not winning my conference championship. But I’m looking forward to the next few big events. “
Sablan’s next big tournament is the Regionals at Victoria Club in Riverside, California. “We got off to a rough start as a team, but we’re starting to play good golf at the right time before heading to regionals,” said Sablan.
Sablan, who said he has an extra year of collegiate eligibility, has a goal of playing Division 1 golf. With a strong finish to the season, that goal is coming closer to reality.
