ADAMOS BECOMES SECOND FEMALE WORLD CHAMP FROM GUAM

PRESS RELEASE – Carbs Jiu-Jitsu Guam proudly celebrates a historic milestone as T’ana Adamos captured the World Championship title, becoming the second female juvenile World Champion from Guam and the first World Champion in the academy’s history.

The first was Jayronne Gandaoli.

Widely regarded as the top competitor in her division throughout the season, T’ana’s championship run culminates an extraordinary year that included major victories at the European Championships, Pan American Championships, and now the World Championships. Her achievement not only establishes her among the elite competitors in the sport but also marks a defining moment for Guam athletics and the broader Pacific region.

What makes this accomplishment even more remarkable is the journey behind it. Developed and trained entirely on Guam, T’ana’s success is a testament to years of discipline, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment. Without relying on extensive off-island training camps, she has demonstrated that world-class athletes can be cultivated right here at home.

“This victory represents far more than a gold medal,” said Professor Mike Carbullido, Head Instructor and Co-Owner of Carbs Jiu-Jitsu Guam. “It represents years of hard work, belief, perseverance, and a commitment to excellence. T’ana dreamed of becoming the best in the world, and through relentless dedication, she made that dream a reality.”

“This achievement is bigger than a championship,” said Kristy Carbullido, Team Manager and Co-Owner of Carbs Jiu-Jitsu Guam. “T’ana has become a symbol of what is possible when talent, discipline, faith, and relentless hard work come together. Watching her grow from a young athlete into a World Champion has been one of the proudest moments in our academy’s history. She has shown every child on Guam that you do not have to leave home to chase greatness. You can build something special right here, and you can compete with—and beat—the very best in the world. We could not be more proud of the athlete, leader, and person she has become.”

T’ana’s accomplishment serves as a powerful reminder to Guam’s next generation of athletes—especially young women—that geographic limitations do not define potential.
