PRESS RELEASE – The Marianas Sport Jiujitsu Federation, Inc. proudly announces the resounding and historic success of the Guam Marianas Pro Manila, held April 25–26, 2026, at Quantum Sky View Mall in Quezon City. With over 1,200 competitors, the event is now recognized as the largest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament in the Philippines to date, marking a major milestone for the sport in the region.
Athletes from around the world delivered an electrifying weekend of competition, representing the Philippines, Japan, Mainland China, South Korea, Guam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Russia, Lithuania, the United States, and Brazil. The tournament highlighted elite-level performance, international camaraderie, and the continued expansion of Jiu-Jitsu across Asia and beyond. The event received extensive coverage from media outlets, digital platforms, and influencers, further elevating its global visibility.
Distinguished guest Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong was also in attendance, showing strong support for the international martial arts community and the development of competitive sports in the Philippines.
“This was a landmark event—not only for our organization, but for Jiu-Jitsu in the Philippines,” said President, Steve Shimizu. “To host the largest tournament in the country’s history, with such incredible international participation, is something we are truly proud of.”
A major highlight of the tournament was the commitment from over 12 academies throughout the Philippines to travel and compete in the upcoming 2026 Guam Marianas Open International Championship, set for October 24–25, 2026 in Guam. T
