PRESS RELEASE – In a thrilling display of talent and teamwork, PVA Elite (16U) triumphed in the Smart Spike Challenge Cup championship held at GameVille, overcoming the top-seeded St. Theresa’s College in a decisive victory, winning in three straight sets with scores of 25-21, 30-28, and 25-18.
The championship match showcased the exceptional skills of PVA Elite players, with Keisha Chen earning the distinguished title of Most Valuable Player (MVP) for her outstanding performance and leading scorer for most of the games throughout the tournament. Additionally, she was recognized as the Best Middle Blocker, solidifying her status as a key player in the team’s success.
Peyton Camacho also made her mark on the tournament by being awarded the Best Libero, showcasing her defensive prowess and contributing significantly to the team’s overall performance.
Coach Guarin explains that the PVA Elite team’s victory marks a significant achievement in the end of the club season, highlighting their dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence.
In the 18U Division, PVA Premier finished strong in pool play as the top seed but succumbed to the might of the Philippine teams, ultimately ending up in 4th place. Lea Aromin received the 2nd Best Outside Hitter award for the tournament.
