FITNESS EXPO FULLFILLS GOAL WITH SEVERAL EVENTS

Weekend full of fitness events

By Patrick Lujan

Despite a dreary and wet weekend, the 2025 Guam Fitness Expo carried along with a number of fitness-related events at the LeoPalace Resort.

“This past weekend’s FitExpo at Leopalace was one for the books. Despite the weather, the energy and turnout exceeded all expectations, and the support from the island’s fitness community was nothing short of inspiring,” said Domer Gabriel, President Guam FitExpo.

“We had 15 athletes compete in the WNBF Guam showdown, with Homer Campbell earning a WNBF Pro Card — a milestone achievement. Our 5K/2K Fun Run brought together 186 runners of all ages and fitness levels, creating a powerful sense of community and movement.”

Hugh Kent continued his sizzling summer, cruising to the 5k win Saturday morning in 18:42, while Caroline Schneider was the top female finisher at 25:40.

GUROX Debut

The Expo also debuted GUROX, Guam’s newest functional fitness competition, where 38 athletes went head-to-head in a test of strength, grit, and endurance.

“The rain didn’t stop them — if anything, it made their efforts even more impressive.”

“None of this would have been possible without our dedicated staff, volunteers, and production team. They ran this operation like a machine, and we’re incredibly proud of what we accomplished together. A huge thank you to our vendors, who brought such vibrant, interactive energy to the expo floor – each one helped make the weekend dynamic and memorable. Leopalace proved to be an outstanding venue – spacious, accommodating, and full of potential for even more expansive events in the future.

“We’re excited to continue growing this movement and bringing people together through health, competition, and community. This was more than an event — it was a celebration of Guam’s strength and unity.”
