Maria Dunn loses to Lubov Volosova of Russia, 0-5VT in the qualifying rounds of the 63kg freestyle weight class. Her opponent, Volosova, went on to win bronze.

Athletics

Amy Atkinson places fifth in Heat 3 of the 800m with a time of 2:18.53. She not only beat her personal best, but she now holds the Guam record in the women’s 800 meter run.

Derek Mandell places seventh in Heat 1 of the 800m with a time of 1:58.94. He placed 50 out of 56 competitors.

Judo

Ric Blas, Jr. wins first judo match over Guinea’s Facinet Keita (men’s +100kg)

Ric Blas, Jr. falls in the second round to Cuba’s Oscar Brayson, 2008 bronze medalist (men’s +100kg)

Swimming

Pilar Shimizu finishes in second place out of six in Heat 1 with a time of 1:15.76 in the 100m breaststroke. She placed 42 out of 46 swimmers in the event.

Chris Duenas finished seventh out of eight in his heat of the 100m freestyle with a time of 53:37.

Benjamin Schulte finished 25th place in the 10k Swim with a time of 2:03.35.1
