PRESS RELEASE – GTA TeleGuam 2012 Holiday TipOFF annual basketball tournament continued its double round robin schedule on Tuesday at Tamuning Gym in the 18 under and 18 plus varsity divisions.
Games continue tonight starting 5 pm in the 14 under division with the final game being played at 8 pm in the 18 plus division.

18U varsity division
Cabatuan Azkals made a come from behind win in overtime 67-65 against the Tamuning Typhoons I. Azkals Christian Lopez scored 24 points followed by teammate Ran Teologo 23 points while Typhoons Sam Setik and twin brother Sammy Setik scored 25 points and 19 points respectively in the loss.
Panthers Club earned their first win against the Four Stars 66-60. Panthers Jason Frias scored a game high 17 points and teammates Geo Quichocho and Devin Maluwelmeng scored 15 points apiece. Four Stars Ziggy Corcuera and Res Selik scored 15 and 14 points each.
18 plus varsity division
Tamuning Typhoons continued its winning streak (4-0) after defeating Dr. Ha Tooth Fairies (2-1) 87-63. Typhoons Joe Blas scored a game high 31 points followed by Earvin Jose with 26 points and Jude Martinez with 18 points. Fairies James Stake and Vince Estella scored 17 points and 16 points respectively.
Team Defenders (1-2) earned a victory 78-56 against the Four Stars (0-4). Defenders Adam Lloyd and Stephan Whitehurst scored double figures with 24 points and 20 points apiece. Four Stars Jimmi-siah George had 22 points and Justice George scored 13 points in the loss.

The JFK Islanders won the first ever Memorial Weekend High School Basketball Tournament.
The All-Tournament selection were Zhion Macapinlac JFK, Darwin Ecijan JFK, Matthew Quinata Southern, and Malcom Fernandez Tiyan.
