MTM Falcons down Agat Reds 14-1
Leo Palace Baseball League action kicked off Saturday with the Amateur Division MTM Falcons (2-3) taking on the Agat Reds (1-6). The Falcons would pound out 14 hits helping them cruise to a 14-1 win over the Reds. Glenn Palomo picks up the win for the Falcons pitching 5 innings allowing no runs and only 3 hits. John Lizama lead the Falcons going 2 for 4 with a double, 2 runs, 2 rbi and a stolen base. Falcons improbe to 2-3 on the season and the Reds fall to 1-6.

Haggan holds on for 10-8 win over Rangers
Amateur Division Talofofo Rangers (4-3) and Haggan (3-3) matched up in the second game on Saturday with the Rangers almost mounting a huge comeback but falling short as Haggan holds on for a close 10-8 win. Down 10-4 in the 5th inning the Rangers would score four runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to mount a big comeback but Haggan would retire the Rangers in order to hold on for their 3rd win of the season. Eric Lizama, RJ Escalona, Ray Apiag and PJ Quintanilla had two hits each to lead the Haggan offense as they even their record at 3-3. Haggan starter John Sablan picks up the win with Larry Bombon throwing the last two innings for the save. Carlo Naputi was 3 for 3 for the Rangers in the loss as they fall to 4-3 on the season.

Angels 2-1 win over Phillies features great brother’s pitching duel
Saturday night action featured the AAA AM-PCR Angels (7-1) and the Philip & Son’s Phillies (2-6). On the mound for the Angels would be Freddy Cepeda and for the Phillies Eric Cepeda in a friendly but competitive brother rivalry. And neither Cepeda would disappoint with Freddy and Eric matching each other inning for inning. But there would have to be a winner and the Angels would break through against Eric Cepeda in the bottom of the 6th inning with Brandon Fernandez leading off the inning with a triple into the right center field gap and come in to score on a rbi single by Alejandro Diaz giving the Angels the 2-1 lead. Freddy Cepeda would close out the Phillies in the 7th inning and pick up the win. A great pitchers duel the final lines on both Cepedas- Angel’s Freddy Cepeda picks up the win going 7 innings allowing 7 hits and 0 earned runs with 4 strikeouts. Phillies Eric Cepeda gets the loss going 6 innings allowing 8 hits and 1 earned run with 1 strikeout.
Angels improve to 7-1 on the season and lock up 2nd seed and the Phillies fall to 2-5 in the AAA Division.
Amigos too much for Asan Guns
Sunday baseball action at Leo Palace kicked off with the Amateur Division Chalan Pago Amigos (6-1) taking on the Asan Guns (0-5). The Amigos would jump out to a quick lead scoring a run in each of the first 5 innings to take down the Guns 14-2 in a 5 inning mercy rule game. Keith Castro paced the Amigos offense going 3 for 3 at the plate with 2 walks, 4 runs and 4 stolen bases. Amigos starter Paul Campos picked up the win going 3 innings allowing only 1 earned run. The Amigos improve to 6-1 and hold onto first place in the Amateur Division. The Guns fall to 0-5 on the season.

Yigolos finish regular season perfect 8-0
The AAA Division first place Yigolos (8-0) finished the regular season perfect with a 10-4 win over the AF Reserves (0-7). John Quintanilla was 3 or 4 for the Yigolos and Joseph Quintanilla picks up the win on the mound as the Yigolos finish with the #1 seed heading into the AAA Playoff Tournament. AF Reserves fall to 0-7 as they look for their first win of the season. Clint Cruz had two hits for the AF Reserves in the loss.

Sakudee edges Yona Redhawks in extra innings
Sakudee (5-1) and Yona Redhawks came into Sunday night’s game with matching 4-1 records and battling for the 2nd seed in the Amateur Division. Sakudee would score 8 runs in the 2nd inning and the Redhawks would chip away tying up the ball game in the 6th inning before the game would go into extra innings tied 8-8. Sakudee would score in the top of the 8th inning with John McDonald leading off with a single and stealing second before scoring on a rbi single by Matt Barcinas. Sakudee Reliever Josh Aguigui would close out the Redhawks in the bottom of the 8th to hold on the 9-8 win. Aguigui picks up the win for Sakudee who improve to 5-1. Luke Tedtaotao was 3 for 4 at the plate for Sakudee. Redhawk’s Tristan Aguerro was 3 for 4 in the loss as the Redhawks fall to 4-2.
