    • CAMACHO, ALVAREZ GET PROMOTED TO BLACK BELT

      Saipan promotions: Purebred professor Stephen Roberto promoted Frank ‘The Crank’ Camacho and Cuki Alvarez to jiu-jitsu black belts at the Trench Tech/Purebred gym Tuesday night. It is the first black belt promotion for the CNMI.

      While most of Team Guam will be holding down the courts and field in the 2019 Pacific Games, Guam’s Va’a team will be braving Samoa’s waters. Both the men and women’s team have been hitting rigorous training since Fall of 2018 and they’re in the final stretch before they head out to the Games.

      Guam’s top swimmers look forward to standing on the medal podium for next month’s Pacific Games in Samoa. The contingent, coached by Ed Ching and Don San Agustin, has a mixture of youth and veterans with Olympic experience.

      Guam’s Track & Field team dominated the Micro Games just last year collecting the most amount of medals for Team Guam for their stay. With a team full of two former olympians, Guam record holders and stars in their own right, the athletics team is rearing to go for the 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa.

      The Guam contingent for Beach Volleyball will consist of one men’s team for the Pacific Games in Samoa. Zakhary Zacarias and Brian Tsujii will both participate in their first Pacific Games competition for Guam.

    • THE LEGACY CONTINUES WITH 8TH STRAIGHT GWTFL TITLE

      It took a lot of clutch plays from dynamic running back Jalana Garcia to make it happen, but in the end, the final chapter of yet another GWTFL season ended with Team Legacy hoisting a championship trophy by beating the Stunnerz 26-22 at the UOG Field.
